The feeding place:
Feeding can begin as soon as it starts to freeze. Scatter food on the ground in open areas so that the birds are not at risk of being eaten by cats lurking among the bushes. Another option is to place a feeding board or feeder/tube attached to a tree branch with a rope. The cats can only look up to this with a lot of taste. Place the feeding board in a sunny and windless place, preferably so that you can keep an eye on it from behind the window. Make sure there is shelter over the feed board to prevent the feed from getting wet or disappearing under a shower of snow. It is also not interesting to place the feeder near large trees, gazebos, pergolas, etc. where cats can jump off.
