To make our feed, 10.6kg of meat is dried for a 12kg bag so that it can be better processed into our pellet. With the right proportion of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog uses meat from free-raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and strong color and is rich in vitamins and minerals. This tender meat has lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, making it very beneficial for your health.
poultry
At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together give the food a delicious taste and aroma. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
In order to provide the dog with additional valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables were added to our food. Vegetables, for example, are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, promote digestion.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog that provides the dog with all the important natural antioxidants. For example, fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also help keep breath fresh or maintain a healthy digestive system. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants grown in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, seaweed, etc. has a tradition that goes back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its beneficial properties. The ingredients are highlighted depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group. Breed-specific ailments can be alleviated through the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Vizsla Shorthair specific vegetables, herbs and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Vizsla Shorthair. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Vizsla Shorthair belongs. Based on these studies and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients were selected that have an optimal effect on the health and well-being of the Vizsla Shorthair.
Fenugreek
Like the pea, fenugreek is a plant from the family of butterflies. The plant is also called fenugreek or “Greek hay”. It originally comes from Mesopotamia and was already known in the Mediterranean region in ancient times. Nowadays, fenugreek is also grown in Central Asia.
Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. Fenugreek contains saponin and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. It also has anti-inflammatory properties (natural anti-inflammatories) and promotes bile production.
Fenugreek can be added to food to prevent arthritis, asthma and skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of fenugreek and support healthy digestion.
Chondroitin
Chondroitin occurs naturally in the dog's body and is one of the most important components of cartilage tissue. In dogs, chondroitin is able to attract and bind moisture, which should result in a spongy suspension of the cartilage.
Chondroitin improves the suppleness of cartilage and also has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. It also stimulates the production of the building blocks that ensure healthy cartilage.
When chondroitin is administered in combination with glucosamine, it supports and enhances the effects of glucosamine. It is often given as a dietary supplement for people and animals suffering from osteoarthritis.
banana
The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not fall below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana was cultivated in New Guinea around 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word Œbanaana in the language of the Wolof people.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals. These include vitamins A, C and B11 (folic acid) as well as the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. The natural antioxidant vitamin C can strengthen the immune system. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It may also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with hypertension, while magnesium can relax muscles and promote bone growth. Bananas also contain a lot of good fiber and increase the number of good bacteria in the intestines.
