Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag so that it can be processed better in our dry food. With the right proportion of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog uses meat from free-raised and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and strong color and is rich in vitamins and minerals. This tender meat has lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, making it very beneficial for your health.

Vegetables

These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its beneficial properties. The ingredients are highlighted depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group. Breed-specific ailments can be alleviated through the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Westie-specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Westie. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Westie belongs. From these studies, ingredients that have an optimal effect on the health and well-being of the Westie were selected in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists.

chamomile

Chamomile is a genus from the Asteraceae family. Chamomile is widely grown in Hungary and Eastern Europe. It also grows wild throughout Europe. The name chamomile comes from Greek and means "grated apple" and refers to the apple scent. Chamomile enjoys an excellent reputation in natural medicine.

We can add chamomile to Yourdog because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific problems relating to the stomach, intestines, skin, rheumatism, nerves, inflammation and urinary tract.

Chamomile can have a slightly calming effect on dogs and can therefore be used on dogs that are often stressed. It can also have a positive effect on dogs with nerve digestion. It can have a decongestant and antiseptic effect.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, from which the hand apples, which are particularly known in the northern hemisphere, come. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Fiber has a diverse effect on the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making the stool soft and supple. Fiber also increases volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates intestinal activity, but also ensures thorough elimination of waste products.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Westie foods, please note the following information.

If your Westie is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy option. For a Westie older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Westie Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult version.

Advice on switching

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend you follow the steps below. As a first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% old dog food. The dog can get used to it for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old food. It is important to re-acclimate the dog over two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% old dog food. The dog is now almost completely in Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. Afterwards you can 100% Yourdog the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or barrel in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food into the tub individually, but to put it in the tub in the entire bag, closing it as tightly as possible.
